Before Dennis Raimo reached the counter to order his usual, a turkey-swiss wrap, a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck came crashing through the front wall of Colleen's Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop. Glass shattered, chairs flew, tables flipped and dust swarmed the room. Raimo said it felt like an explosion.

How could a 3.2 magnitude tremor felt as far as south suburban Milwaukee have nothing to do with a quarry blast 7 seconds earlier at almost the same location in an area practically immune to earthquakes?

At about 12:35 p.m. Nov. 4, Lauterbach was climbing the stairs from her basement to record the small blast she had just heard when a "tremendous shaking" began. What she and residents from across the area were feeling was a 3.2 magnitude seismic wave, comparable to a light earthquake.
